July 1st - Evening Meeting

Our meeting on Saturday 1st July is a change from our normal format. We start with our first visit to the three bell tower at Bramshall before moving on to the eight bells of Rocester.

If, like me, you have not rung at Bramshall, you will find it just outside Uttoxeter on the road to Stone. And our tower pages have postcodes for your satnav, OS map references for those who prefer paper and links to online maps.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding of children and young people is an important issue both at a tower and an association level. The Association has therefore appointed a Safeguarding Co-ordinator, produced guidelines for tower captains, and policies and procedures for association events.

Copies of the documents can be found on our Publications page. They can also be obtained from our Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Ros Daybell.

June Striking Contest

There was a grand turn out for our striking contest and meeting at Dilhorne on Saturday 3rd June. Over 50 ringers sat down to a sumptuous tea provided by the 'Dilhorne Damsels' and friends. Eight bands took part with Stafford coming out on top just 2 points ahead of Stone.

Our thanks to the Dilhorne ringers for hosting the event and providing the tea, and to our judges Mike and Ann Orme.

100 Club

The Association is running a '100 Club' to raise funds for the Bell Restoration Fund. The way it works is that members pay a subsciption of £12 and are entered in 5 draws in the year. There will be four prize draws, usually at business meetings, and one Superdraw at the Association's AGM. If fully subscribed the first prize will be £50 at the prize draws and £100 at the super draw.

So if you would like a flutter in aid of a good cause, please contact our 100 Club organiser, Chris Adams.
